Content:

Subjects of environmental health significance such as food safety, water quality, sewage and waste disposal, recreational sanitation, communicable disease control, occupational health, air and water quality, environmental risk, pest control, etc are welcome. Regular features include Spotlight on, Focus on Communicable Disease, Inside Our Institute, and Internet Resources/Upcoming Events.

Format and Styles:

Preferred length of technical articles is 1,500 to 3,000 words, however longer articles are considered. All manuscripts are to be typewritten or word processed (Word XP, 2000 or earlier or WordPerfect for Windows format). References are required for technical articles (utilizing APA reference format) and recommended for others. Black and white photographs, figures, tables and graphs are welcome and will be returned upon request. Electronic versions of both articles and graphics are encouraged, submitted in PC format on 3.5 high density disk or as attachments to e-mail. The preferred format for scanned photos/graphics/charts is TIFF. Submissions as fillers, commentaries, book reviews and news can be of shorter length and do not require references.

Author Information:

The cover sheet should include title, author's name, institutional affiliation and the date the article was written. If more than one author, please indicate to whom inquiries should be directed. Submissions are accepted in both English and French. Previously published material or simultaneous submissions are not acceptable.

Deposition:

Decision to accept manuscripts is made within two months to allow for review by the Editorial Board; publishing is normally within 3 to 6 months after acceptance. Copyright remains the property of the author.

Permission:

It is the author's responsibility to obtain the necessary permission for the use of copyrighted material owned by others such as tables, charts, forms, figures and photos.

Review Process:

Peer Review, by the Editorial Board, is required for technical articles. This usually entails a two to three month delay in publishing. Submitters will be kept notified of status of their article.
